Site: Cindy Fuhr's Colorado Springs Real Estate Connection
Address: www.cindyfuhr.com
Target audience: People moving to Colorado Springs or considering the move, in search of land, lots and residential property.
What I like about this site: The "Sliding Tree Menu" allows users to quickly drill down to desired content. After clicking on a heading, a submenu slides down for further selection.
What I don't like: I tried to view a Virtual Tour on one of the properties but received the error that the "Hometour 360 Virtual Tour you were trying to reach has moved."
A nice touch: Pages titled "Buying a Home with Cindy" and "Selling Your Home with Cindy" include flow charts to quickly educate home buyers about the detailed process.
Tips for the Webmaster:
1. The embedded "Message Window" in the middle of the "Area Information" page, with its jerky loading and scrollbar dependence, slows down information gathering and frustrates the user. Another solution for subcontent delivery: Substitute a simple javascript pop-up window to provide answers.
2. Your HTML source code contains a lot of repetitive, sequential code. Such unnecessary duplication throws off your page formatting by causing lines to break in unusual places when the browser is resized. Site formatting should take into account the lack of control Webmasters have over user choices, such as changing browser options. Pare down your HTML to the essentials and improve your site functionality.
